Cycle Training in Thailand-Doi Suthep

One of the perks about living in Korea, is how close it is to other beautiful countries. I was fortunate enough to hop over to Thailand and train for a little over 3 weeks while preparing for the second Tour De Korea qualifier and got some pretty incredible rides under my belt. I was able to get in some long hilly rides in Chaing Mai, headed to Bangkok to attempt to ride, but it was hell in traffic, and ended my trip in Ko Chang island, were I practiced intervals along the coastal highway.

My first ride was from Chaing Mai, lost around the city for about 2 hours, then headed up to Doi Suthep National Park. Doi Suthep is famous for overlooking the city of Chaing Mai and having amazing views, and of course Doi Suthep is also famous for the Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, one of the most important temples in the Chaing Mai province. Really..pictures do no justice at all..but here is an image of the city from the ride:

Temples in Thailand are all beautiful and stunning. It was deff a nice break for a rest besides taking a pit stop at a gas station!

Thailand is also famous for Maui Thai fighting. I was so looking forward to checking out a fight. It was one of the best nights I had there, as the fight I found was a complete hole in the wall boxing ring...it reminded me of what a chicken fight would be like! Every since watching the fight, I am inspired to get in a gym and see if I could master some moves!
